Fashion File for February

“Fashion has two purposes: comfort and love. Beauty comes when fashion succeeds.” –Coco Chanel.

February is well-known as a month for love. Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and people are scrambling to find the perfect gift for those they care about. For most people, Valentine’s Day is the most important part of February. For others, the most important time is the first Fashion Week of the year! Designers have worked non-stop to create some wonderful garments that will keep you looking stylish all year round. Let’s take a look at what we can expect to see on the catwalk this month.
There is no better feeling than wearing a knitted sweater made by Grandma. The love in every stitch, the warm cozy feeling, and the softness of the wool made you feel like you could take on the cold of winter all by yourself. Thankfully, knitted  wear is all the rage this season. From sweaters to shorts and even dresses, wearing wool will not only keep you warm against the February chill, but will make you look stylish.
In the fashion world, there has always been a battle over plaids. Some say plaid is the most fashionable print while others say plaid is the worst thing to happen to the fashion world. Whatever side you’re on, this season plaid haters will be groaning because plaid has been seen all over the runways. Designers like Victoria Beckham, Wes Gordon, and Brooks Brothers have all decided that this season, plaid is back on the scene, and making a huge statement. Whether you pick a shirt, a dress, or even a hat, you can’t go wrong with plaid this season.
You know what all the stylish people say: “The cute shoes are never the comfortable shoes.” Victoria Beckham herself famously said, “I can’t concentrate in flats!” Well worry no more, Mrs. Beckham, because this season, comfortable shoes are all the rage (thanks goodness!). From Alexander Wang to the former Spice Girl herself, flat shoes are making a scene on catwalks all over the world. Now you don’t have to choose between looking good or staying comfortable as you strut your stuff at the office, in the streets, or even out with friends. Comfort is finally looking good!
